Hospitals and clinics providing Knee arthroscopy (keyhole investigation of the knee)

Knee arthroscopy is a type of keyhole surgery performed by Knee Surgeons within the field of Orthopaedic Surgery, usually performed to diagnose and treat different knee problems. Small cuts are made over the joint. A camera is attached to the arthroscope and this is inserted into the joint. Photographs are taken with a camera which allow the surgeon to view the inside of the joint. It is also used to treat conditions such as anterior knee pain, cartilage damage or the removal of fragments of bone - MRI scans and X-rays can be used to diagnose these. Possible complications are infection, haematoma formation and nerve damage.
