Coronary angiography is a procedure that visualizes the inner sections of the heart along with the blood vessels that are near to it. It is used to diagnose any heart conditions especially obstructions along the blood vessels that supply the heart muscle. The procedure is done by using a catheter that is inserted in a large vein that returns blood to the heart. A dye is injected in the vein and then allowed to visualize the heart and blood vessels; x-rays are taken of the heart structure for diagnosis.
