A coronary angiography is a procedure that allows the radiographer to see inside the coronary arteries that supply it. This procedure is a very useful diagnostic tool to spot occlusions (plaque) that may be blocking the supply of oxygenated blood to the heart. Usually a dye is injected via a vein and in the groin which then highlights the arteries. Images are then taken and examined for any abnormalities.
