Hospitals and clinics providing Blocked tear duct surgery

Tear duct blockage is one of the main causes of watery eyes and often, the only effective treatment will be surgical. The usual operation is called dacrocystorhinostomy (DCR). In this operation a new tear passage is made between your tear sac and your nose which will bypass any blockage below your tear sac and allows tears to drain normally again. If a narrowed small channel (canaliculus) is not fully blocked it may simply be widened by pushing in a probe.
